The HL7 FHIR protocol is the national and international standard for the interoperability and exchange of health data, chosen by the Ministry of Health.
Thanks to the adoption of HL7 FHIR, a more fluid and standardized flow of information is now possible, facilitating medical research and improving the quality of care for patients.
The solution
An international protocol
Infocube re-engineered the application used by the Istituto IRCCS “Fondazione Pascale”, implementing the HL7 FHIR protocol.
The constraints were: the choice of an open source software, under standard GPL version 3 license, the use of the open source Kubernetes system for the deployment of the application. Further constraints were given by Microservices and the need for Containerization.
The developed communication protocol allows an optimized and uniform exchange between the different healthcare institutions, enhancing the management of clinical information and offering valid support to facilitate research in the medical field.
The new platform developed communicates exclusively using the FHIR standard, ensuring interoperability and efficiency.
