The project
The product was born for the physical design of a railway line through a userfriendly graphic interface. With this nearly finished feature, the customer introduced new needs, demanding to combine cost planning and the associated economic final balance with the physical design.
One of the key complications of Infocube’s PCS project has been the requests for adjustment of functional specifications at an advanced stage of design and development. The smart approach with which Infocube faces and manages its projects has made the impact of each change request on the system architecture almost zero. The physical design and final accounting section allows for the description of all the equipment and technologies required for the construction of a railway line, allowing for the detection of “physical” progress in the implementation of single phases of single technologies in single sites (see stations , drawn, etc.). The cost planning section gives you a new viewpoint on the same project by dividing the commitments by cost center and connecting them to the Purchase Requests first, then to the orders. Finally, by merging physical progress data with economic data, deviations from the budget can be discovered and countermeasures implemented.
